Responsibilities

  • Team Management and Development: Lead a team of insurance professionals, focusing on performance management, recruitment, onboarding, and daily administration. Foster a collaborative, cohesive work environment.

  • Operational Oversight: Supervise brokerage operations and insurance sales processes, identifying areas for improvement and handling complex client issues.

  • Sales and Tracking Processes: Establish structured sales and tracking processes, especially for Letters of Brokerage (LOB), while ensuring data accuracy within the EPIC system.

  • Commission and Compliance: Manage user roles, permissions, and commission processes in EPIC, focusing on compliance, accurate payouts, and timely accounts receivable collections.

  • Communication and KPI Tracking: Act as the main contact for brokers and markets, lead team meetings, gather feedback, and monitor critical performance indicators.

  • Reporting: Provide key reports, including accurate monthly commission calculations for brokers.

  • Governance and Compliance: Uphold high standards of governance and compliance, supporting audit processes and overseeing sales operations.

  • Strategic Planning: Participate in annual business planning, develop strategic initiatives, set financial targets, and distribute goals to the team.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs, conducting thorough insurance assessments, and providing exceptional service.

  • Policy Administration: Manage policy endorsements, renewals, and adjustments, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

  • Claims Assistance: Assist clients throughout the claims process, acting as a supportive contact and guiding them effectively.

  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on insurance products, industry trends, and regulations to offer informed advice to clients.

  • Sales Growth: Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling relevant products to enhance customer satisfaction and revenue.

  • Record-Keeping: Maintain organized client files, ensuring all interactions and transactions are documented per company policies.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent on the job experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in the insurance industry, including both personal and commercial insurances
  • Must have your General Insurance Broker License Level 2 (Preferably Level 3) in British Columbia. An equivalent Alberta license is also preferred.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products, regulations and best practices.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping others and providing personalized insurance solutions tailored to our clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative mindset, working effectively within a team to achieve shared goals while fostering a positive and supportive work culture.
  • Proficiency with computer applications including EPIC (Broker Management System).
