Are you motivated by providing responsive client/customer service to people who are just starting their professional career? Are you a self-starter and great with technology? Does supporting the professionals who help safeguard BC’s forests hold a special attraction for you? Then, consider this rewarding opportunity to work with the progressive Forest Professionals British Columbia team.
THE JOB IN BRIEF
In accordance with the law, anyone wishing to practice reserved aspects of professional forestry must be licensed by registering with Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC). All FPBC registrants are required to meet registration and professional development requirements using an online education platform known as the Learning Management System (LMS).
The Learning Management Coordinator is the first point of contact for trainee registrants about their required learnings during the registration period, including how to use and interact with the LMS, and to provide routine technical support. In a collaborative team-based working environment, you will work closely with Registration Department and Practice Department staff to:
- Organize and coordinate a variety of training and educational modules;
- Guide registrants through their learning processes and respond to concerns;
- Monitor and assess the successful administration of online training modules;
- Coordinate the activities of related registration committees and working groups;
- Prepare a variety of documents, reports, and correspondence; and
- Maintain all related training program records.
FPBC seeks an experienced, well-organized, and enthusiastic individual to coordinate the delivery of a province-wide training regime intended to educate and qualify trainee registrants in professional licensing requirements. This is a comprehensive and important role in which you will coordinate all aspects of the online LMS; communicate with trainee and other registrants; support the activities of committees and sub-committees involved in professional training; and participate in projects as assigned by the Deputy Director of Registration and the CEO.
You are a collaborator who works effectively with a diverse range of internal managers and staff to ensure the LMS online training content is clearly and comprehensively presented. You will also work effectively with external stakeholders, such as registrants, First Nations, forestry/industry professionals, and technology vendors to provide responsive information and problem-solving.
As stated in the position deion, this is a growth position comprised of two Band levels. Typically, a successful candidate in a recruitment process is hired at the entry level (Band 1). Once on the job, and as experience, knowledge, and skills are acquired over time, a promotion to Band 2 may be considered. However, a candidate who demonstrates they possess the full scope of experience, knowledge, and skills during the recruitment process may be hired directly in to Band 2.
Your technological aptitude — combined with your background in administering adult training or educating — as well as your capacity to organize, administer, and monitor the progression of meaningful professional training programs will be your key to success. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic high-profile environment and provide integral training and educational support to those wishing to commence work in BC’s professional forestry sector.
Carefully read the process outlined below, which addresses the requirements for applying to this position.
