About Us:

Red Fox Healthy Living Society is a registered Charity that transforms the lives of children and youth through the power of recreation and mentorship. We provide free active recreation, arts, and Indigenous cultural programs to children at schools, parks, and community organizations, while training and mentoring local youth to deliver these programs. Our mission is to promote healthy, active living among children and youth and to foster employment and life skills in youth who face barriers, with a special focus on Indigenous youth, racialized and newcomer youth, youth living on low incomes, and youth with disabilities​.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Manager to lead and execute our communications strategy. This role is critical in enhancing our organization's visibility, engaging our community, and promoting our programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the organization's mission and goals.
• Create and manage content for various platforms including social media, website, newsletters, and press releases.
• Coordinate with program managers to gather and disseminate success stories, program updates, and impact reports.
• Build and maintain relationships with media, stakeholders, and community partners.
• Oversee the design and production of marketing and fundraising materials and promotional content.
• Monitor and analyze communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a communications role within the non-profit sector.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital marketing, and content creation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience with media relations and event planning.
• A commitment to Red Fox Healthy Living Society’s mission and values.
• Familiarity with issues facing Indigenous peoples, newcomers, people living on low incomes and people with disabilities. Lived experience is an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 months

Pay: $32.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 35 per week
