Description
We are expanding our team and operation hours and accepting applications for a Veterinary Assistant position for part-time position. Veterinary Assistants participate in the daily care of all animals, assist doctors and RVT with procedures, maintain the hospital clean, sanitary, safe, and efficient manner, and communicate with the public in an effective, courteous, and non-judgmental manner.
The duties of Veterinary Assistant position are variable, depending on the hospital's operational needs. General duties will include:
- Assist doctors and RVT
- Communicating with clients, including client education
- Assist the doctors with medical records
- Assist veterinarians with out-patient appointments as an Exam Room Assistant including restraining patients and routine procedures (such as nail trim, anal glands, administrating fluids)
- Dispense prescribed medication.
- Prepare treatment plans & client invoicing.
- Assist RVTs with performing diagnostic treatments, including lab sample collection, and radiology.
- Assist RVTs with surgery and anesthesia as a Surgical Assistant.
- Inventory maintenance, housekeeping duties, administrative duties, inventory, and other tasks as required.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated responsible team player who is always willing and enthusiastic to ensure high-quality of patient care. Must have good typing skills. At least one year of previous veterinary experience is requirement.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
