Aaron Smith started his career in the steel trade at just eighteen years old, hired as a labourer, he quickly demonstrated he was capable of more intelligent tasks and was promoted to welder fabricator of the small shop within a few months. He learned to weld , fabricate and repair steel and aluminum during the day while attending vocational college for his welding apprenticeship at night. After graduating he was offered a position with a structural steel erection company. After shadowing his foremen and senior co workers, he gained many valuable processes, skills, and productive methods to erect and weld structural / misc. steel. He was quickly promoted to foreman and oversaw several successful projects over the years.
 

Aaron always envisioned he would have his own company, the determined young man found himself in a position to challenge the structural steel erection industry and take a more efficient, more intuitive, approach to steel erection than the competition.
 

With no external support or funding, this was no easy feat. Aaron had to take whatever jobs he could get, and afford to fund. He executed every project with full attention and effort, no matter the size, grew his team and started taking on larger and more elaborate projects.
 

Red Iron is now a leader in British Columbia's steel erection sector, with peak manpower capacity of 30+ crew members, a fleet of material handling equipment, Aerial work platforms, new model welding equipment, experienced management, field foremen, ironworkers, and welders.
