As a Data Architect at Progi, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our business intelligence and analytics platforms. Your mission will be to modernize our data architecture by leading the migration of legacy on-premises systems to a cloud-native environment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines that support both existing and modernized versions of our products, ensuring seamless and consistent integration for reporting. The Data Architect must foster a culture of continuous improvement and create efficient and long-lasting architectures. Their role is to ensure that Progi's data is in a healthy, secure environment that allows for its effective use.

Main responsibilities

Data architecture and migration

• Lead the migration of databases and data pipelines from on-premises infrastructure (SQL Server, MySQL, SSIS/SSAS/SSRS) to a modern GCP stack.

• Build and manage data pipelines using tools such as Airbyte, Cloud Storage (GCS), BigQuery, Cloud Composer and Dataform.

• Design and maintain hybrid data flows to support both legacy and new product architectures during the transition period.

Data integration and orchestration

• Write and maintain ETL/ELT workflows to synchronize, clean, and transform data between systems.

• Ensure compatibility and consistency between existing datasets and modernized data models to enable unified production of inter-product reports.

Data quality and governance

• Implement monitoring and control mechanisms to ensure data reliability, consistency and security.

• Perform audits and validations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of critical data pipelines.

BI infrastructure support

• Support the transition from SSRS to Power BI Service by providing clean and structured data models in BigQuery.

• Collaborating with the front-end BI team to deliver reliable and well-modeled data for dashboards and paginated reports.

Documentation & Collaboration

• Maintain clear and complete documentation of data models, pipelines, and orchestration logic.

• Work closely with front-end developers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure a common understanding of data logic and availability.

• Participate in troubleshooting and resolving incidents related to data flows and infrastructure.

Desired profile

• Proficiency in modern data engineering tools.

• Comfortable with legacy BI tools (SSIS, SSAS, SQL Server) as well as modern platforms (BigQuery, Airbyte, Dataform).

• Excellent SQL skills; knowledge of scripting for orchestration (e.g., Python).

• Solid understanding of data modeling principles, data warehousing concepts, and data lifecycle management.

• Experience in hybrid environments is a major asset.

Knowledge of English is essential in order to fulfill one's work prescription with the various stakeholders.
