THE TEAM
The mission of the Accounting Department is to account for every financial transaction in the general ledger accurately and on time to enable informed decision making.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Aritzia is growing and our Accounting team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for the organization’s accurate, complete, and timely financial accounting. You will play a pivotal role in leading, managing and overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations across the business, including analysis that supports internal and external reporting, while ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards (IFRS). THE ROLE
As the Director / Sr. Manager, Accounting, you will lead the team to:
- Govern the financial data that builds our financial reporting, enabling financial insights
- Provide senior management and business leaders accurate and timely reporting to support decision making
- Determine appropriate accounting treatment under IFRS, while ensuring compliance with new/amended IFRS and accounting policies
- Identify opportunities to add value in terms of streamlining processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience.
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The Director / Sr. Manager, Accounting, has:
- Proven and best-in-class skills, applicable certifications, education and/or experience in:
- Accounting in a comparable role
- CPA designation
- A commitment to learn, apply, champion and enrich Aritzia's Values and Business and People Leadership principles
- The skills to collaborate strategically with cross-functional partners in the pursuit of shared business outcomes
- The ability to set clear objectives and design a strategy that inspires the team
- A dedication to quality and investing in results and new business opportunities that add value
- A deep understanding and commitment for the industry in which we operate
THE COMPENSATION
The typical hiring range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
