Responsibilities

The Geographic Information System (GIS) Data Analyst is responsible for advanced geospatial asset data work in performing a variety of technical and analytical functions related to the use of the CMBC’s Geographical Information System. Specializes in the creation, management, and manipulation of both spatial and non-spatial data and associated metadata, as well as the production of tabular and cartographic figures and data visualizations which includes web-mapping application support. The accountabilities and responsibilities of the GIS Data Analyst involve liaison with CMBC’s internal and external clients, including working with the GIS team within the TransLink enterprise to ensure asset data integrity and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

A diploma or certificate program in geography, computer science, survey technology, engineering, or related discipline with emphasis on GIS products and technologies.

EXPERIENCE:
Up to three (3) years of related experience with GIS products and technologies, Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and technologies; utilizing GIS technologies and datasets to share, analyze and interpret data.

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural deive interview questions.

Work Schedule

37.5 hours per week.

Work Designation

Hybrid
This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.

Rate of Pay

Salary $5,963 - $7,160 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
