Opportunity Description

Lytica’s team is growing, and we are looking for an intermediate Component Engineer to join our Component Engineering team. We are seeking a self-driven and high-energy individual with a strong analytical mind and a passion for problem-solving. In this role, you will leverage your component engineering knowledge and data skills to contribute to the growth of our reference library of electronic components, ensuring its accuracy and relevance in supporting electronic product development. You will collaborate with other team members to identify new industries and technologies, integrate them into our library, enhance the functionality of our decision support system, and improve the integrity of our library through data mining techniques.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain classification standards for electronic components using AEC-Q, Military, Medical specs and domain knowledge.
  • Analyze component databases using SSMS, Azure Synapse, SQL, Python, PySpark, and prompt-engineering approaches.
  • Use distributor knowledge bases and internal tools to normalize, enrich, and validate component data at scale.
  • Leverage PCB design and assembly experience to interpret Gerber/CAD files and validate real-world component usage.
  • Scrub and analyze BOMs (internal/client) for cost reduction, alternates, compliance, and sourcing strategies.
  • Manage PCNs/ECNs and author MCOs/ECOs to ensure traceability and timely updates to component records.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma and EMS experience to optimize classification workflows.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success to resolve client BOM issues and enhance library accuracy and usability.
  • Stay current on semiconductor trends and integrate market shifts into library standards and value models.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in component engineering or a closely related field.
  • Proven track record of working effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with component pricing analysis in the context of procurement organizations.
  • SaaS experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical teams and client-facing groups.

Lytica is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate, support, and thrive on diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. If you require accommodation due to a disability at any time during the recruitment and/or assessment process, please contact the Human Resources department, and we will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.

We invite all qualified candidates to apply. Please note, you must be eligible to work in Canada to be considered for this role. We thank everyone for their interest; however, only applicants continuing in the recruitment process will be contacted.
