About the role

As the Maintenance Manager - North America, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of maintenance operations across our North American sites. You will lead a team of maintenance specialists to optimize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support our business objectives. This position is critical to ensuring safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

 

Key Interactions/ Relationships:

  • Report directly to the Maintenance Manager - Global.
  • Member of the local leadership team.
  • Interact with various teams across the business.
  • Engage closely with customers on the maintenance and technical support of the PhotonAssay™ systems.

 

Responsibilities and contribution

  • Manage the maintenance and technical support of PhotonAssayTM systems within North America.
  • Lead and manage the North American maintenance team.
  • Follow, develop and implement systems and processes to ensure high-availability operations of Chrysos installations in North America.
  • Develop and maintain systems to provide responsive and flexible customer service, providing support for clients via on-site visits, telephone, email and remote computer access for troubleshooting and performance checks.
  • Support deployment teams installing and commissioning of new PhotonAssayTM systems.
  • Work with manufacturing and product development teams to deliver improvements in safety, reliability, and serviceability.
  • Work with current operations and maintenance personnel to build knowledge of the PhotonAssayTM technology, including assisting with short-term provision of on-site service.
  • Assist with the writing of product documentation and manuals and the delivery of customer training.
  • Ensure accurate and complete records are kept for maintenance events and faults.
  • Prepare and send monthly reports to customers, and present to site managers monthly.
  • Contribute to monthly PhotonAssay Performance Reports for Global.

 

Skills, Competencies and Experience required.

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering, science, mining, or a related technical discipline.
  • Previous experience in an engineering maintenance manager role, developing and implementing maintenance processes and leading a team of service engineers, in applications requiring very high equipment availability.
  • Team leadership in a diverse environment, potentially across international operations.
  • Familiarity with the mining industry and laboratory or mine-site operations, in particular mine-site safety, and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in fault finding in electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: mechanical maintenance and repairs; basic electronics; engineering drawing and design.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills, customer service and field service experience in mining, mining services, mineral processing, or related industries an asset.
  • Able and willing to travel and work across North America, including at remote locations such as mine sites.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical documentation and processes.
  • Familiarity with office productivity software such as SharePoint, MS Office suite and web applications.
  • Current drivers’ license and passport.
