Zaber is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design, manufacturing and electronics to join our Production Engineering Team. The position will be primarily focused on the automation and improvement of assembly procedures for electromechanical devices, as well as providing input for the design and introduction of new products.

The Production Engineering team is a small group of engineers focused on creating and improving high-quality production equipment and processes. We are looking for someone with a broad set of skills who will proactively identify and pursue opportunities to improve our products and operations. With the support of other experienced engineers, you'll collaborate on cross-functional teams to develop solutions to a variety of interesting problems.

Zaber designs and manufactures precision positioning devices and motion control systems and you'll be an essential part of improving our efficiency, productivity, and quality. You'll contribute to the success of Zaber and your colleagues by designing, implementing, improving and supporting production systems and processes.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:

• Design, fabricate, and maintain manufacturing equipment to produce components and assemblies with unique requirements
• Work with product designers to transition new products from development into production
• Develop innovative test equipment for measuring the performance of precision motion control devices in a production environment.
• Troubleshoot product and equipment issues spanning from mechanical, electrical, and programmatic faults
• Collaborate across teams with experts in electrical engineering, software development, firmware, machining and mechanical design to support the completion of the above tasks
• Provide engineering support for other operations teams at Zaber

You're the ideal Mechanical Engineer if you have:

• Experience in product design, mechanical design, or manufacturing environments
• A degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with designing, building, and debugging electrical systems is an asset
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Experience prioritizing and managing multiple concurrent projects with diverse stakeholders.

Mechanical Engineer Wage

• The starting wage for this role is $30 - $57/hour depending on experience.
