Mechanical Project Coordinator - Buildings
Maple Reinders is thrilled to announce the award of the Royal BC Museum Collections and Research Building contract in Colwood, (Victoria) BC. Relocation to Victoria is required, with relocation assistance provided.

The new facility will be a beacon of innovation and sustainability, housing the museum's collections, research departments, and archives. Mass timber construction and LEED Gold Certification will highlight our commitment to excellence.

As a Mechanical Project Coordinator, you'll support Project Managers in delivering diverse building projects. Responsibilities include managing subcontractors, ensuring adherence to schedules, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Join us in shaping Victoria's future.

In doing so, you will be involved in:

• Assisting in reviewing and tracking construction schedules, setting up project administration files
• With direction from the Project Manager, initiating and maintaining correspondence with Owner, Architect, Engineers, sub-trades and suppliers
• Gain an understanding of how to select suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotations
• Assisting with and/or clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers
• Developing successful relationships with current and prospective clients, consultants, realtors, and developers
• Ensuring there is a continuous focus on site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as our Corporate Health and Safety Policy
• Attending site meetings and assisting in the completion of project deficiencies
• Closing tenders in consultation with senior managers
• Assisting in start up and commissioning of major equipment

At Maple we are looking for individuals who have the skills and desire to take on the role of Mechanical Project Coordinator, but have the drive to become a Project Manager.

To be considered for this role you will have:

• Minimum 3-5 years or more experience as an Mechanical Project Coordinator in the construction industry
• A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil Engineering, mechanical trade or a combination of education and industry experience
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and CAD
• HVAC expereince and strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, materials science, and mechanics.

Salary range: $70k - $90k annuall
