Work Type: Permanent / Full Time
Our client is searching for a highly motivated and experienced System Planning and Engineer Manager to support our Chief Operating Officer with the design and longevity of their distribution system. A successful candidate is an exceptional team player, devoted to safety and is committed to providing an exceptional member service. The System Planning and Engineer Manager is responsible to develop long term system planning in the best interest of the client. Integral to this position is the strategic distribution design process, standards development, and the support requirements for new or replacement infrastructure.
Your success will be defined by your ability to
- Both lead and work within a team environment, including leading by example in promoting and applying safe work practices
- Participate and lead long term system planning for the Client and their various projects, as well as coordinate the strategic distribution of these plans
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with fellow co-workers and our members; this includes good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Be a part of the planning process for the larger projects, collaborating with the Project Managers
- Stay organized and maintain good time management skills, as well as manage numerous projects and competing demands
- Oversee various project services, including inventory management and maintaining materials throughout the project execution phase
- Effectively use Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, Park GID or familiar with design/mapping software
Your strengths include
- Registered Professional Engineer, Senior Technologist with 10 years distribution and management experience in the Province of Alberta
- Possess a thorough working knowledge of power transmission and distribution systems
- Ability to develop and write effective construction related programs, policies, practices, and procedures
- Previous experience in rural power distribution system operations would be an asset.
