Salary: $18.00 to $20.00 hourly (to be negotiated) for 25 to 30 hours per week

Job Requirements

Education

• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year

Experience

• 1 year to less than 2 years

Tasks

• Evaluate suitability of material for publication, broadcast or publication on Internet
• Make decisions on the significance of copy and what to implement
• Plan layout or format of copy according to space or time allocations
• Detect and correct errors in spelling, grammar and syntax
• Shorten or lengthen copy
• Plan coverage of upcoming events and assign work accordingly
• Confer with authors, staff writers, reporters and others regarding revisions to copy
• Plan and co-ordinate activities of staff and assure production deadlines are met
• Write or prepare introductions, marketing and promotional materials, bibliographic references, indexes and other text
• Conduct surveys and analyze data on the buying habits and preferences of wholesale and retail consumers
• Answer written and oral inquiries
• Conduct online marketing, E-commerce and Website promotions
