Provide safety leadership by always setting a good example. _*Purpose: *_To implement and collaborate on NOVAGOLD’s Corporate Communication Strategy, and work with senior management and communications vendors to increase NOVAGOLD’s visibility among current and potential stakeholders. Create and implement NOVAGOLD’s social media strategy with the goal of directing people to NOVAGOLD’s official channels of communication (e.g., website), as well as reaching out to new audiences and highlighting the Company’s value drivers, developments, environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) initiatives and corporate culture. Ensure all corporate communications comply with the Company’s message track and corporate branding image. Complete related tasks as they arise. _*Position Summary: *_ The Communications Manager is responsible for all internal and external communications. Engage with industry peers, vendors, and service providers to find the most innovative ways and best practices to communicate with the Company’s stakeholders and broader market. The Communications Manager works closest with the VP Corporate Communications, the Investor Relations Manager, the Vancouver-based Executive Assistant, the Corporate Secretary and Director of Human Resources and Corporate and Regulatory Compliance and other members of the executive team, consultants and vendors to implement and collaborate on NOVAGOLD’s communication strategy with the goal of enhancing the Company’s visibility among current and potential shareholders and broader stakeholders. This position also provides back-up to the VP Corporate Communications at conferences on an as-needed basis. A crucial element of this role is to strengthen and expand NOVAGOLD's social media strategy. The aim is to drive traffic to NOVAGOLD’s official communication channels, including the website, in collaboration with the Donlin Gold project's official channels. This position also focuses on engaging new audiences and showcasing the Company's value drivers, developments, ESG initiatives, and corporate culture. Ensuring all corporate communications align with the Company’s message track and branding is also a key responsibility. _*Key Responsibilities and Duties:*_ * Participate in the development and execution of the Corporate Communications Strategy to support the organization’s mission, goals and objectives. * Build and foster long-term relationships with various stakeholders (shareholders, investors, market makers, research analysts, brokers/traders, employees, vendors, local stakeholders, and ESG specialists as well as organizations in proximity to our assets). * Seek and manage special projects that showcase NOVAGOLD’s core values and message track. * Actively seek new ways to improve the Company’s disclosure process and its profile in medica, online and within the organization. * Oversee budget relative to the day-to-day operations of ongoing corporate communications programs (e.g., company website, FB, LinkedIn, Twitter, advertising, company and project-related sponsorships). * Negotiate with vendors for services to support Corporate Communications department; manage vendor relationships. * Primarily responsible for communication materials including website, fact sheet and social media postings. * Coordinate proper and timely filing of 10-K and 10-Q on EDGAR and SEDAR, including oversight of EDGARization process. * Coordinate preparation, issuance and filing of press releases on EDGAR and SEDAR, as appropriate. * Coordinate quarterly webcast presentations. * Monitor web and print advertising campaigns to ensure effectiveness. * Manage information flow to employees regarding all NOVAGOLD and industry news. * Build upon and enhance the Company’s social media strategy. * Ensure that social media channels complement NOVAGOLD’s traditional communication channels and direct people to NOVAGOLD’s website. * Manage booth and act as spokesperson at retail investor conferences. * Prepare conference presentation material. * Manage design and development of all public materials. * Support Donlin Gold community relations team with messaging, video and print advertising, media coverage, and outreach. * Work closely with Corporate Secretary and Director of Human Resources and Corporate and Regulatory Compliance on AGM planning, coordinating and execution, including presentation slides and public facing materials. *Candidate Qualifications* _*Education:*_ * University undergraduate degree is required, preferably in a communications or business discipline _*Experience:*_ * Minimum five years of communications or investor relations experience, experience working for a natural resource company preferred. _*Other:*_ * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs. * Experience organizing complex events. * Ability to exercise good judgment, maintain confidentiality of information as appropriate, show initiative and be proactive. * Ability to work comfortably with people at all levels of the organization. * Approachable with a “can do” mentality. * Self-starter who can work with little to no supervision. * Willing to suggest and implement new ideas and improvements. * Ability to multitask and work under pressure. * Experience with aboriginal communities an asset. * Some travel required, including to remote locations. *About NOVAGOLD* NOVAGOLD is a well-financed precious metals company focused on the development of its 50%-owned Donlin Gold project in Alaska.
