This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join our Communications Team!

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications, the Corporate Communications Manager will be responsible for supporting corporate communications goals, managing the company’s website, social media and community engagement communications, and leading specific corporate communications and marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Corporate Communications

  • Provide support for public and media relations, communications planning and implementation, public presentations and other communications and marketing collateral, as required
  • Provide project-based communications support including communications planning and implementation
  • Lead for corporate website, including managing updates, changes and external contractor, and working with the IST department to ensure the site is secure and stable
  • Lead communications for relevant community-based initiatives (e.g. Development community consultations and approvals), as well as corporate community initiatives, as required
  • Lead for social media, including developing, implementing and managing social media strategy
  • Create, manage and oversee media content, including coordinating with external PR agency
  • Monitor media and social media; repost and respond as required, and ensure staff adherence to social media guidelines
  • Evaluate social media metrics to ensure effectiveness of channels and campaigns, and provide recommendations
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
  • Lead corporate image and video capture, as well as editing, processing and storage
  • Edit content and material produced by others as appropriate
  • Lead for special events, including planning and managing events
  • Lead for the creation of annual and quarterly reports for three corporate entities

Internal Communications

  • Lead for other departmental communications, as required
  • Lead for internal and non-corporate image and video capture (e.g., office parties and events)
  • Lead for posting to and managing internal channels (Viva Engage)

Corporate Marketing

  • Support the creation of corporate marketing collateral (print and digital)
  • Support the development of new corporate ads
  • Lead industry award submissions

Other Responsibilities

As well, this role will:

  • Support projects on an as-needed basis
  • Support corporate brand and style guidelines and ensure brand standards, corporate messaging and content standards are met, and are consistent
  • Provide input on the creation of annual budgets
  • Provide support to the broader Sales & Marketing department as required

Qualifications

  • Education or experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline such as Communications, Journalism or Public Relations
  • At least six years of communication experience
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Expertise with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, etc.)
  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite)
  • Excellent image and video capture and editing/processing skills
  • Knowledge of Drupal, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator is an asset
  • Understanding of Google Analytics and SEO
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
