Description
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for languages, technology, and high-quality localized content tailored for the Quebec market?
As a translator/editor, you'll ensure the quality of French (Canadian) content for the Quebec audience. You will handle projects, ensuring localized content is accurate, culturally relevant, and SEO optimized.
Our company embraces a remote-first working model, with in-person collaboration and social engagement opportunities available at our Vancouver, BC, head office. We are seeking candidates based in the Lower Mainland to support our regional team balance. Flexibility to align with business hours in the Pacific Time Zone is required.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee translation projects, post-editing machine-translated content for high-visibility projects.
- Act as the French translator/editor for one digital retail category team.
- Check and proof French content and advertising materials to meet Best Buy’s brand voice and Quebec market needs.
- Participate in the transcreation of marketing campaigns and advertising headlines for Quebec.
- Translate, optimize for SEO and publish French blog articles, enhancing engagement and performance.
- Review French articles written by external bloggers for quality and SEO alignment.
- Maintain bilingual glossaries and translation memories.
- Participate in terminology discussions and provide feedback on machine translation outputs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and participate in the community of practice meetings.
What we’re looking for:
- Native-level French language skills with fluency in English.
- 3+ years in translation, editing, or localization, ideally in digital retail or e-commerce.
- Skilled in post-editing and memory management using CAT tools.
- Deep knowledge of Quebec culture and language.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills.
- Previous experience with machine translation tools.
- Experience with SEO and content management systems (CMS) is an asset.
