Havana is an iconic staple of the Drive that is looking to bring on a long term Sous Chef with the goal of taking over as head chef by the end of the summer. If growing in this industry aligns with your personal and professional goals then please read on and drop us a line!

The Restaurant:

Havana Restaurant is inspired by the flavours, colours, and culture of Old Havana, Cuba.

When it comes to the menu, guests can expect a hybrid of authentic Cuban flavours combined with Pacific Northwest style and a commitment to local suppliers. Bright, fresh, fun tastes with unique menus for brunch, lunch, and dinner all made from scratch in house daily!

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

- At least 3 - 5 years cooking experience in a fast paced, casual restaurant of 100 seats or more

- Ideally 1 - 2 years experience in a junior management/leadership position

- Familiarity with Optimum Control inventory management system an asset

- A base understanding of food cost and labour management and how to positively impact each

- Familiarity with Sysco/GFS online ordering platforms

- Competent with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Google Drive, GMail, Google Calender

- Knowledge of Latin cuisine and flavours an asset but not a requirement

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

- Strong leadership presence

- Passion for food and developing people

- Positive demeanour and outlook on life

- Level headed, ability to multi-task and make clear, concise decisions

What we're offering:

- Opportunity for growth within the restaurant as well as within our company which will be growing to 3 restaurants later this year.

- Mix of day and evening shifts, roughly 45 - 50 hours per week

- Base salary of $38k - $42k depending on experience

- Weekly cash tips of $140 - $200 depending on time of year/sales volume

- Yearly bonus potential of 10% base salary
