Online Math Tutor

READ TO ME LEARNING CENTRE is looking for dynamic individuals to join our growing team of tutors to provide fun and exceptional support for ONLINE MATH lessons to learners in need.

Set your own hours and days between 3:30pm-7:30pm on weekdays and 8:00am-8:00pm on weekends. This is an Independent Contractor position. The student load will be a minimum of at least 10 hours per/ week with the potential for a maximum of 40 hours per/week. The Independent Contractor understands that their student schedule may be filled slowly until it reaches full capacity.

Our students range in age from grades 1 to 12. We are looking for reliable, qualified individuals with strong interpersonal and teaching skills who will deliver high quality teaching to our students. You will primarily provide homework support but will also need to guide your student as needed by producing fun math games and/or appropriate worksheets. Some students will initially need help filling in any of the fundamental, foundational math skills.

Successful applicants will be available on a minimum for the entire school year and the potential for summer if client demand is there. The Centre follows the school calendar and all stat days, pro days, Christmas and Spring Break we do not run sessions.

TUTOR Requirements:
- Be Extremely proficient in mathematics
- Dependable/reliable and able to work a set schedule
- Be punctual for each and every session
- Be willing to submit a criminal record check
- Familiar with using the Zoom platform and whiteboard to teach online lessons
- Strong ability to deliver professional online lessons
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to stay on task and work independently
- Confident in the ability to perform assessments and provide brief documentation detailing student progress
- Positive, friendly attitude with a true passion for teaching in an online environment to students
- Truly enjoy working with children and find this work rewarding
- Have a fun, warm, caring personality with a calm, positive manner
- Comfortable giving praise to students and occasional feedback to parents
- Organized, on task and able to prepare/deliver individualized/sequential lessons based on student need
- Will provide your own computer and teaching materials which include grade appropriate curriculum
- Must have a quiet, distraction free space available to conduct online lessons
- Be able to foster and promote positive self-esteem for your students
- Must be willing to sign an Independent Contractor Agreement
- Experience is preferred however, consideration will be given to the right candidates
