Description

Nch’ḵaỷ Development Corporation (NDC) was established in 2018 as the economic development arm of the Squamish Nation - Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw. Nch’ḵaỷ’s mandate is to develop, manage, and own the active businesses of the Nation and was created to allow for the separation of business and politics within the Squamish Nation.

JOINING OUR TEAM

The Project Manager is a Term Full-Time, 9 to 12 Months, position based at Nch’ḵaỷ’s Head Office. Our Head Office is in West Vancouver, BC on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sḵw̱xwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and its people. You will be working towards generating wealth and prosperity for the people of the Squamish Nation. Scope of the Position

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and successfully implementing UKG Pro HCM, Payroll system, and NetSuite ERP. You will collaborate across teams, document processes, and customize technology solutions to meet unique Nch’ḵaỷ’ s needs. This role requires strong project management skills coupled with deep expertise in ERP and HCM technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the project team, coordinating with various parties, and ensuring timely and efficient deployment of these critical systems. The Project Manager will manage user acceptance testing, and manage all resources with system deployment, with a focus on the timeline, budgets, and managing people and technology. The Project Manager will play a central role in workshops, Nch’ḵaỷ’ s meetings, and education initiatives, ensuring successful user acceptance testing and contributing to real-time visibility into company operations. Incumbents typically possess the following background or qualifications.

  • Seasoned Project Managers with an HCM background in Canada.
  • Several years’ tenure managing projects with HCM vendors (e.g., Ultimate Software, ADP, Ceridian, Workday).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proven consulting experience partnering with customers and executives.

A. Duties, Responsibilities, Authority, and Accountabilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management activities for ERP (NetSuite) and HCM (UKG) implementations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, HR, Finance, and Operations, to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the implementation process.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party consultants involved in the implementation projects.
  • Conduct regular status meetings, communicate project progress, and address any issues or risks proactively.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, configuration workshops, and user acceptance testing (UAT) sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with project management best practices, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and support to end-users to ensure a smooth transition and adoption of the new systems.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess project success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to ERP and HCM systems.

  • Identify and communicate project work plans, scope requirements, timeline, and project resourcing requirements.
  • Revise and communicate, as needed, to meet changing situations.

b. Team Leadership

  • Prepare, coordinate, and lead meetings between Nch’ḵaỷ and vendor’s team members.
  • Enforce project standards to ensure deliverable quality.
  • Ensure that both parties are meeting their project commitments to ensure successful implementation.

c. Documentation and Communication

  • Ensure project documentation is complete, current, and archived appropriately.
  • Communicate, using a variety of mediums, project status, risks, and options to both internal and external parties.

d. Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the project and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Address and resolve issues promptly to minimize impact on project timelines.

e. Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with vendor to ensure seamless integration and adherence to project requirements.

f. Quality Assurance and Support

  • Develop a roadmap of our proposed systems adoption strategy.
  • Manage, optimize, and scale our deployment with ongoing, hands-on support and recommendations for additional supporting technologies.

D. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

a. Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, specifically leading HCM and Payroll system implementations. (e.g., Ultimate Software, ADP, Ceridian, Workday)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
  • Knowledgeable of the human resources/payroll/benefits discipline

b. Skills

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery on time and within budget.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Experience working with First Nations is an asset.

c. Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management.
  • Previous experience leading HCM and Payroll system implementations.

d. Special Requirements

  • Occasional requirement to work in the evenings and on weekends.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
