We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our HSOne’s engineering team, where you will be working on our academic on-premise product. The primary responsibility of this role is to build technically sound solutions that optimize for maintainability, performance, scalability, and security. You will be engaged throughout all phases of the software development life cycle and user your passion for technology and quality to help us exceed customer expectations. You have 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer being involved both with front end and backend development. You are passionate about technology and look forward to a technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and eliminate bugs in an on-premise software system
• Participate in an Agile environment collaborating with Product Management, QA and stakeholders to ship high-quality software on time.
• Mentor junior engineers to help them improve their technical skills and understanding of best practices
• Solve complex problems using knowledge, passion and curiosity
• Craft code that reflects an expert understanding of object-oriented design, refactoring, clean code, clean architecture and solid engineering principles
• Providing technical guidance and expertise to the development team, making architectural decisions, and ensuring code quality
• Continuously learn and leverage technologies to improve and effectively build enterprise software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience building backend software utilizing our technology stack
• Professional knowledge of OOP and enterprise design patterns.
• Solid development experience with C++, C# and .NET , Web APIs technologies
• Working experience in Oracle or other relational databases
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of working in an agile environment (Jira a plus)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Enjoys sharing ideas with and learning from other team members
• This is a hybrid (#LI-HYBRID) role, with up to two days in office, to facilitate brainstorming and team building
  • Our office is located across from Guildford Mall, in Surrey, BC.

Bonus

• Dental or Healthcare industry knowledge/background is an asset but not required.

The posted range for this position is between CAD 86,100 and CAD 116,850 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient and experienced in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, training, current skills, certifications & education etc.
