Description

Canada Wide Media, which includes iconic community brands such as Western Living, Vancouver Magazine, and BC Business, is seeking a highly motivated, web- and social media-savvy, experienced individual to join our team as Digital Marketing Manager. The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for all digital products & services under the Canada Wide Media umbrella, including the strategic direction of the brands’ digital presence, the execution of the digital strategy, and the ongoing day-to-day maintenance of the various digital properties (web and social).

This is an amazing opportunity to work for a renowned Canadian publisher, across multiple brands of varying subject matter, and to drive measurable growth of this arm of the business. This role is best suited for someone who can function both with high autonomy, and high collaboration and balances creativity with pragmaticism. The right individual seeks ownership of their work, is self-motivated and full of ideas – someone who embraces the storytelling component of marketing and leverages digital platforms to best reach the target audience.

The ideal candidate has experience working with multiple brands/voices, and is comfortable being nimble. They understand how the various digital platforms work together, and can drive strategy to achieve revenue goals (i.e. through ad placements and sponsored content).

The Digital Marketing Manager reports to the Group Vice President, Publishing & Operations and works closely with all departments at Canada Wide Media as well as maintains a wide variety of senior level external relationships.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

· Digital strategy development and execution

o This is the primary focus of the role – working with the leadership team at Canada Wide Media to develop a strong digital strategy with measurable ROI. It includes mapping out the digital presence, and charting a course for the digital future.

o Working with each of the brands to revitalize its digital strategy, focusing on growth of reach and engagement, and best leveraging/integrating the various digital mediums (which support the print products) – including website, eNewsletters, and social media – to support revenue operations.

o Working with Editorial to develop engaging digital content, and execute the content across platforms according to the overall strategy (per brand)

· Website management for all community brands

o Organic content planning in partnership with editorial (digital line ups)

o Development of monthly content schedule – showing how content is leveraged across platforms to drive traffic goals.

o Working with Production/Operations to get content uploaded per the content schedule

o Ensuring content is uploaded to maximize ad performance and SEO

· Social media management for all community brands

o Organic content planning in partnership with editorial (posts & stories)

o Coordinating for sponsored content or paid content

o Post, story and reel uploads

o Responding to DMs and comments

o Promoting events

· eNewsletter management for all community brands

o Set-up and ad inclusion (content to be provided by editorial)

o Sponsored content inclusion

o Dedicated eBlasts set-up & deployment for all community brands

o Driving traffic to targeted content according to content plan

· Sponsored digital content management

o Content coordination with clients/sales coordinators

o Work with sales to establish metrics/goals for the campaigns

o Boost sponsored content to achieve desired results

o Track boosting campaign performance

o Manage website ads inventory boosting to ensure impressions availability

· Ad trafficking through Google Ad Manager

o Enter data, analyze reports, process creative requests, and update notes in the software for all material throughout the project/issue lifespan

o Keep in communication with Sales regarding customer projects and any delivery concerns

o Reconcile digital ads at the end of the month for Accounting, including verifying sponsored content has run according to the notes in Naviga.

· Contest management

o Coordination, upload and deployment of contents (on web and social media)

o Reach out and relationship development with existing and prospective contest partners

· Digital performance management and reporting

o Ongoing tracking of digital platform performance

o Preparation of client digital reports

o Preparation of monthly KPI reports

· Other misc. tasks as required, including:

o Updating digital media kits

o Updating and maintaining corporate website

o Managing 3rd party vendors and suppliers as required

o Managing development projects as required

Required Skills

· Proven work experience in a Digital Marketing role, particularly with the development and execution of a digital strategy across platforms.

· Preference given to candidates with agency background (working in a role that represented multiple brands)

· Formal education in digital management and execution.

· Strategic thinker who knows how to optimize content for web and social to drive traffic and engagement, and understands how all the pieces fit together.

· Excellent research, communication and copy writing skills

· Creative thinker with demonstrated drive and initiative

· Excellent interpersonal skills; can work well independently or collaboratively

· Strong at using social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter

· Proven familiarity with SEO and social media best practices

· Comfortable with Wordpress

· Strong familiarity with online analytic tools such as Google Analytics

· Strong familiarity working in Google Ad Manager

· Energetic, detail oriented, and organized with strong time management skills

· Ability to be flexible and respond quickly with a can-do attitude and problem-solving focus

· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work within tight turnarounds

· Ability to monitor the progress and status of deliverables and communicate appropriately

· People leadership experience an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
