We are currently searching for an Electrical Designer with a minimum of 2-3 years of local (BC) experience to join our downtown office in Vancouver, BC. The candidate should be familiar with a variety of institutional, municipal, healthcare, commercial and residential building projects as well as the Vancouver Building By-Law (VBBL) and British Columbia Building Code (BCBC) Codes and Standards. The candidate will be responsible for design, tender and construction phase services on various projects.

Typical Functions of the role include:

• Design, calculations, system/building evaluations, reports, client liaison, specification writing, site review work in relation to O’M projects, under supervision.
• Electrical design of power distribution, communications, controls, lighting, fire alarm and security systems.
• Utilize technologies for development of electrical systems using Revit for BIM, and AutoCad 2d
• Technical calculations and software use for lighting analyses using AGI, load calculations, grounding systems, and power system design
• Attendance at site visits for field reviews and construction project meetings
• You will be expected to be responsible for a variety of projects (both in size and complexity).
• Assist Senior Engineers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
• We anticipate you will become proficient in all our simulation software used at O’M, such as Solar Edge, SKM, and Acoustic Modelling

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Technology
• 2+ years of experience designing electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, life safety and communications in BC.
• Experience with tender document packages and production of drawings and specifications
• Experience with applicable codes and standards such as but not limited to CEC, BCBC, and VBBL
• Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
• Exemplary interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
