Position Overview

We require a full-time permanent Franchising Development Manager to play a critical role in the growth and expansion of Basecamp Properties by identifying and securing new licensing opportunities. The Franchising Development Manager will be instrumental in maintaining the brand's reputation and ensuring that the franchise network adheres to the company's standards and values.
Salary: $100,000.00 yearly base salary. Additional compensation for each Franchise Sale or the Equity Procurement for each specific deal.
Travel & Networking expenses to be covered up to a yearly maximum.
Location: Full-time/Permanent, Calgary

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Strategic Planning: Developing and executing the overall strategy for licensing sales and expansion, in alignment with Basecamp's growth objectives.
  • Licensing Candidate Evaluation: Overseeing the evaluation and selection of potential licensees based on financial capacity, operational experience, and alignment with the brand's values and standards.
  • Negotiations and Contracts: Leading negotiations with potential licensees and finalizing franchise agreements that protect the brand's interests while offering attractive terms to franchisees.
  • Market Analysis: Conducting market research and analyzing industry trends to identify potential growth opportunities and target markets for licensing.
  • Relationship Building: Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing licensees, potential investors, and industry stakeholders to foster trust and loyalty to the brand.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments, such as legal, finance, marketing, and operations, to ensure a seamless and successful franchising process.
  • Reporting and Performance Analysis: Providing regular reports to the senior management team on franchise sales performance, market trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Training and Support: Working with the team to provide necessary training and support to franchisees during the onboarding process and ongoing operations.

Skills & Experience
 

  • Proven track record of successful sales experience within the hospitality or real estate industry with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with potential licensees, existing licensee partners, and other stakeholders. Effective negotiation skills are crucial.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans for franchise sales and expansion, aligning with the company's growth objectives.
  • Skill in conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, and identifying growth opportunities and target markets for franchising.
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse range of individuals, including potential investors and industry stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as legal, finance, marketing, and operations to ensure a seamless franchising process.

Requirements
 

  • 5+ years of relevant sales experience within the hospitality or real estate industry. Experience in franchise sales considered an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Real Estate, Finance, Hotel Management, or a relevant field required.
  • Prior experience working in a Brand and Licensing capacity with major hotel brands preferred.
  • Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of the hospitality development landscape.
