Mom2Mom’s vision is an equitable society where moms and children are not limited by poverty. Our mission is to connect moms and children living in poverty with the community, resources, and support that they need to thrive. We know that children who have healthy, determined, well-supported moms can grow and thrive despite poverty-related stress.

Location: Vancouver

Type: Full-Time, 4 days a week

Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 annually based on experience.

Start Date: January 2025

Who We Need Now

Mom2Mom is seeking an accomplished and strategic Fund Development Manager with a robust background in non-profit fundraising. This role will lead our efforts in donor engagement and stewardship, securing new and renewed major gifts, and expanding our donor programs, including the Mom Squad monthly giving program. This role is instrumental in fostering and maintaining key relationships and building support for our mission across the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fundraising Operations: Design and lead the implementation of multi-faceted fundraising goals, encompassing major gifts, corporate grants and partnerships, foundations, corporate campaigns, and individual giving.
  • Donor Management: Maintain and cultivate a portfolio of all and major gift prospects (donations of $1,000+), including developing individualized donor strategies and documenting all interactions in Keela CRM.
  • Relationship Building: Serve as the primary relationship manager, engaging with prospects and existing donors through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, emails, and events to foster long-term relationships.
  • Revenue Management: Partner with the Executive Director to manage revenues, track progress, and report on donations, gifts, and pledges.
  • Planned Giving: Develop and execute Mom2Mom’s planned giving program and grow the Monthly Giving Program.
  • Donor Recognition: Work collaboratively with the Communication and Fund Development Coordinator to ensure effective donor recognition in all publications (e.g., social media platforms).
  • Campaign Planning: Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator and Fund Development Coordinator to develop and execute annual fundraising campaigns, adjusting as needed to meet fundraising goals.
  • Database Management: Oversee Keela CRM database operations, including donor segmentation, campaign tracking, gift processing, and reporting.
  • Stewardship Materials: Lead the creation and production of stewardship materials, including letters and emails, in collaboration with the Communications and Fund Development Coordinator.
  • Policy Implementation: Identify and implement best practices and processes to enhance efficiency, clarity, and accountability in fundraising operations.
  • Public Relations and Communications: Act as a spokesperson for Mom2Mom, working with Communications and Fund Development Coordinator to organize public relations and marketing strategies, including media engagement.
  • Professional Development: Actively pursue relevant professional development and training opportunities to support personal and organizational growth.

Core Competencies

  • Strong understanding of philanthropy with experience in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors
  • Responsive and attuned to donor needs, with a focus on relationship-building
  • Demonstrates tact, diplomacy, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality
  • Proficient in relevant technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems like Keela
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor development team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in fundraising or a related field
  • Significant, progressive experience in non-profit fundraising with a proven track record in major gifts and donor stewardship
  • Familiarity with CRA fundraising rules and guidelines and the non-profit sector
  • Experience collaborating with board members, senior volunteers, and program staff on donor engagement strategies
  • Leadership and management skills with experience setting and achieving team goals
  • Knowledge of CRM databases (Keela preferred)
  • Passion for social justice, working within an intersectional feminist and anti-oppression framework
  • Grant writing and editing experience
  • Experience with a women’s organization focused on gender equity is an asset
  • CFRE designation is considered an asset
