About The Role
The Labour Relations Advisor is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the SFUFA collective agreement and related policies and procedures. The role provides information and advice on collective agreement interpretations and applications, as well as issues such as conflict resolution, performance management, the disciplinary process, and responses to grievances. The Labour Relations Advisor participates in assigned collective agreement negotiations with the Faculty Association and supports the collection, generation and analysis of the information required for grievances, arbitrations, and negotiations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource and training towards the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, or other relevant discipline, and three years of related experience in labour relations, or an equivalent level of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of labour and employment legislation and government policies (e.g., Employment Standards, Labour Relations Code, Employment Equity and Human Rights).
- Excellent knowledge of software applications including Human Resources Information Systems (e.g., PeopleSoft).
- Knowledge of other areas of Human Resource Management including Training, Benefits and Pensions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).

The pay range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for the position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the pay range.
