How Does The Role Impact The Organization?

The Lead Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of technology systems that enable business operations at Raymond James. This person will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to support various IT capabilities, including but not limited to:

  • Technical Leadership and Guidance
  • Project Management and Delivery
  • Security Implementation and Compliance
  • System Automation and Efficiency
  • Monitoring and Performance Management

 

 

What Will Your Role Be Responsible For?

  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to other engineers to ensure operational excellence for digital workplace services.
  • Collaborating with other IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Participating in the service development lifecycle to deliver or enhance digital workplace and platform capabilities.
  • Steering projects to ensure delivery of business value.
  • Planning and implementing system automation for better efficiency.
  • Monitoring and testing system performance, preparing and delivering system performance statistics and reports.
  • Installing, configuring, testing, and securing operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Leads implementation efforts for security initiatives and resolutions resulting from internal and external assessments.
  • Participating in security reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of security controls and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Assessing the need for any security reconfigurations (minor or significant) and executing them if required.
  • Continuously monitoring emerging security threats and technologies to proactively adapt security measures and strategies.
  • Implementing and performing server and device management security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes.
  • Providing critical tier 3 support when needed and/or in an on-call rotation.
  • Undertaking other digital workplace and platform accountabilities as assigned.

What Do We Expect From You?

  • 7+ years of related industry experience
  • Post-secondary education in information systems or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience (e.g., certifications such as MCSE/MCSA, VCAP).
  • Experience in system development and testing, including Enterprise Security and Financial Service domains.
  • Enterprise Implementation and Change Management experience.
  • Identity Management Solutions experience, including Active Directory LDAP, Exchange (on-prem and cloud), and ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Group Policies.
  • Systems and Applications monitoring and alerting experience with tools like DataDog, Solarwinds Orion, and Splunk.
  • Proficiency in ing languages such as PowerShell.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Citrix, Zerto, Virtualization, cloud computing software (VMWare, M365, AWS services), and infrastructure design.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a security mindset, with experience implementing security controls, assessing security risks, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
