Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced educator with extensive knowledge and understanding of current pedagogy and innovative methodology to teach and guide students’ academic planning. We believe that a strong foundation through education will set students on the right path to success. We seek like-minded individuals to join our team.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with students ranging from Grade 5 to Grade 12. Develop strategies to assist students to achieve academic, behavioural, and social-emotional goals.
- Providing guidance and feedback on students’ academic progress, advise appropriate course suggestions to the students to meet their needs.
- Monitor and record students’ progress, follow up with students monthly.
- Work integrally with KEY educators to evaluate, revise and recommend improvements of the current assessment and reporting system.
- Work to understand and leverage KEY’s program goals and educational strategies
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and foster your student’s interest in learning.
- Work with students to build their foundational knowledge of subject areas. This improvement must be demonstrated through a student’s improved grades in their successive school report cards and/or through KEY’s internal academic assessment process.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson and instructional materials that facilitate active learning to develop students’ English reading comprehension, vocabulary development, essay writing, speaking and listening skills.
- Work integrally with KEY to develop and revise the company’s English and/or other curriculum for both foundational and advanced courses.
- Use relevant technology to enhance learning.
- Provide appropriate feedback on student work, progress, or concerns to KEY stakeholders.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Literature, Creative Writing, or related fields, preferably from a Canadian, US, or UK university, or a comparable credentials.
- Familiarity with the BC Education Curriculum.
- Prior teaching and/or tutoring experience required.
- Familiar with private schools and top universities’ admission requirements is an asset.
- SSAT teaching experience is greatly valued.
