Description

Who is design for? At hcma, we’re asking big questions about how we can help solve some of the world’s wicked challenges, through design. We create buildings, brands and shared experiences that connect people – all driven by a genuine spirit of curiosity and care.

We are interdisciplinary by intention. Designers, architects, researchers, strategists and storytellers, all working together to create the lasting change we want to see in our communities.

And that’s where (we hope!) you come in.

We are looking for a bright and service orientated HR Coordinator to join our team. Working closely with the Director of HR, you will confidently and effectively support a variety of HR responsibilities that help support our people to achieve their greatest impact.

What you will do:

  • Full-cycle recruitment support, including preparing job postings, candidate search, phone interviews, coordinating interviews and reference checks
  • Act as the gatekeeper for all people data, ensuring its accuracy and integrity across all systems and preparing people related data and reports as required to support effective decision making
  • Day-to-day HR administration such as drafting employee contracts and communications; developing forms and templates to support processes and maintain job deions
  • Continuously striving to evolve HR initiatives and practices, streamlining process and work collaboratively to provide quality support
  • Benefits administration for employees, including education, enrollment and answering inquiries on an ongoing basis
  • Coordinate the hcma student internship/co-op program with educational institutions and individuals, domestically and internationally
  • Own the hcma employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Respond to general HR inquiries; supporting and empowering hcma-ers with the right information as required
  • Work collaboratively with the Admin team on occupational health and safety initiatives
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives, with the desire to grow to run projects independently.
  • Support hcma culture through participation in firm, social, and community initiatives and events
  • Work in collaboration with Finance to support payroll processing and administration.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends in best practices

What experience you will have:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a HR administrative support role
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration (is preferred)
  • Technical savvy with intermediate proficiency in MS Office suite and HRIS systems (experience with Ceridian Dayforce is an asset)
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Effective at balancing autonomy with collaboration
  • An approachable demeanor with an ability to engage effectively with team members and others.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information, with sound judgement.
  • Working knowledge of BC/AB employment standards will be considered an asset

If this opportunity excites you and you would like to learn more, please reach out to [email protected]. We’d love to see your resume, and more importantly, know more about you – what are you passionate about and why hcma might be right for you.

We appreciate your interest and thank you for taking the time to consider this opportunity. We will be in touch with individuals selected for an interview.
