About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, Canada. The successful candidate loves working with technology, have a proven track record in building and delivering complex digital health software (SaaS) solutions in the harm reduction context of public health, mental health, and substance use. Our products provide emergency support for people in crisis, by connecting them to relevant resources and directing them to health support services. Hence, experience within these contexts and with emergency notification tools, is necessary for this position.

The candidate will have experience in graphic design, web design and maintenance, video editing and history of making product promotion videos. You will work as part of a development team, design team, and have a desire to work with cutting edge software and tools. Our tech stack includes TypeScript, Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, PHP, Laravel, AWS, Figma, Flutter, React, Wordpress, Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator.

You Will NEED To Work with Different Projects and Varied Tech Stacks:

• Building out the LifeguardConnectTM mobile application and, LifeguardLiteTM mobile app interfaces in Native iOS and Android, using SwiftUI, UIKit, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose tools and frameworks.
• Building and maintaining XCode CI/CD pipelines
• Maintaining and building new features for our web application using Flutter, React, Laravel
• Work within an existing/create new animation library to create compelling action and emotionally motivated moments for promotion videos using Adobe tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software solutions
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to other developers
• Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs
• Write Unit Testing, Continuous Delivery & Dependency Injection
• Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure software quality

Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience developing native iOS and native Android App
• Minimum 5 years’ experience developing Web application with Flutter, Laravel
• Must have experience working in the context of mental health and substance use, public health, with digital health / SaaS products and emergency notification tools.
• Experience working in the dynamic Startup environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Ability to create/edit animations for promotion videos.
• Have strong knowledge of our tech stacks.
• Deep understanding of dependency management, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
